Katya was a contestant on the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race where she captured the attention of viewers with her vivacious entrances and dramatically risqué catwalk. Before appearing on the show she had been performing in Boston under the name Katie Homophobia, as well as covering famous Russian numbers with her full drag name Katya Zamolodchikova which was inspired by the last name of her favourite gymnast. Throughout her time on the show Katya was praised for her unrelenting humour and wit, she managed to reach the final five but was voted off. However, due to her immense popularity with fans they voted her Miss Congeniality in the special reunited episode.

Since leaving the show Katya has also appeared In RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars where she stormed through to the final, only just missing out on the title to fellow contestant Alaska. In addition, Katya also has her own YouTube channel ‘welovekatya’ where she uploads various web series showcasing her brilliant comedic talents. She has also flourished in numerous other web series including a collaboration with Trixie Mattel which led to a series on Viceland called ‘The Trixie and Katya Show’ following the pair doing various sketches and games. Recently Katya has been co-hosting ‘Whimsically Volatile’ a podcast with Craig MacNeil.
