Early Promise
Born in Portsmouth and raised in Hampshire, Amanda Lamb first left school at 15 years old and embarked on a career as an estate agent. She had a natural talent for it which only fed into her passion that helped to further her career. However, it was upon attending the Clothes Show in London that her apparent career took a detour, she was scouted by a number of agencies and although initially sceptical she decided to go along to the meeting. One thing led to another and soon she had become the new face of the Scottish Widows adverts. She continued in the role for almost ten years until she saw an opportunity to turn her sights to presenting.
Amanda Lamb’s Television Career
Amanda Lamb took another stride into the spotlight when she was asked to go for a screen test for a role that required a presenter with property experience. She won over the producers and began her first television presenter role on ‘A Place in the Sun’ in 2001. The show amassed a number of fans and increased in popularity, leading to the initial six-part series to be extended and has continued to run since with Land at the helm. Alongside her role on ‘A Place in the Sun’, Amanda Lamb has worked on several shows including presenting on cookery show ‘Market Kitchen’, regularly appearing on ‘The Wright Stuff’ and ‘Family Super Cooks’ and presenting Channel 4 show ‘You Deserve This House’. In 2014, the established presenter also began presenting her own show called ‘Selling Houses with Amanda Lamb’. As well as looking at the market for selling homes, she has also visited them in the construction process while working on the Home Channel’s ‘My Flat-Pack Home’ where she met people living out their dreams when building their own grand design projects.
Amanda Lamb’s Charity Work
With an impressive career that she has flourished in Amanda Lamb has become a familiar face on the television screen. As well as her work as a presenter she has also dedicated her time to a number of charities and is a dedicated support of the mental health charity Mind, homeless charity Shelter and Cancer Research. She also helped win £30,000 for charity the Sara’s Hope Foundation which is a holiday retreat in Crete for people with cancer and their families.
