The Velma Drag Queen Show is fresh off her Australian tour of ICONIC ‘A Brief History of Drag (which not only played to sell out audiences but was nominated for Best Cabaret at Perth Fringeworld) Velma is packed and ready to belt it out for your viewing pleasure. High camp, high energy and frivolity, Velma will have you roaring with laughter and bouncing with joy as she belts out the classics and flawlessly impersonates your favourite divas LIVE in this cabaret style drag extravaganza.

Velma is known as “The UK’s Queen of live vocal drag” and has been wowing crowds across the globe for the past 10 years. The alter ego of West End star Ian Stroughair who has appeared in hit musicals such as Cats, Fame, Chicago and most recently Rent, to which he received critical acclaim. In 2015 Velma was invited to appear on BBC’s Eastenders for a very special guest episode playing herself, starred opposite Danny Dyer in the music short Nebraska, and has performed with pop icon Anastacia and West End and Broadway legends Ruthie Henshall, Kerry Ellis, Frances Ruffelle and many more!

She can also be spotted in American comedy series Piss Off, I Love You, on the silver screen in The Night of The Lotus and has played the legendary 54 below and Birdland in NYC! Last year she appeared in the Olivier award-winning circus show, La Soiree, she fronted the McDonalds “we are awake” campaign and even performed privately for royalty.

The headline act for BBC’s Best Of the fringe Edinburgh 2015 and winner of the coveted Three Weeks Editors Award and a two-year long residency at The Hippodrome, London… There isn’t much our Velma hasn’t done. Her self-titled debut album is out now on Itunes! She can be seen weekly at Cafe De Paris, London, each Saturday in Showtime Cabaret which she headlines.

The standard length of Drag Queen Show is 60 – 90 minutes with an interval. Velma is flexible on show times, and can tailor to suit different events.
