Book Kian Egan
Growing up on the West Coast of Ireland, Kian first walked on stage at the age of 4. He learnt the piano, guitar and a whole host of instruments in his younger years, whilst looking up to his older brothers and dreaming of being on stage in a band.
Kian Egan attended drama school, where he played parts in musicals such as Grease, West Side Story and Annie. It was at drama school that he met his band mates Shane and Mark and they formed the band now known as Westlife.
Westlife’s first big break came in 1998, when they opened for the Boyzone and Backstreet Boys’ concerts in Dublin. Their first single, Swear it Again, went straight to number one in the UK, and their self-titled first album peaked at No.2 following its release in November 1999. The band’s second album, Coast to Coast, beat the Spice Girls Forever album, and become the UK’s 4th biggest selling album of 2000.
The band returned in November 2009, with their tenth musical offering, Where We Are, which peaked at number 2 in the UK charts. A year later, the band released their tenth and final studio album, Gravity, with their eleventh major concert tour following quickly afterwards.
Twelve years, eleven albums, 45 million sales, 14 UK number ones, and 25 top ten singles later, Westlife announced their greatest hits album will be their last, and the band embarked on a farewell tour last spring.
In 2012, Kian Egan kicked off one of his most exciting years as one of the coaches on The Voice of Ireland, alongside Sharon Corr, Brian Kennedy and Bressie. The show aired in Spring 2012 on RTE One.
In 2013, Kian entered the jungle for ITV’s hit show ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ on 17 November and won, now he is the King of the Jungle 2013!
