The oldest and the only constant member of The Eels, the author of most of their songs is Mark Oliver Everett, who has founded the band in 1995 in California. The Eels were one of the first bands to start working with Dreamworks Records and debuting with the studio with their album “Beautiful Freak” in 1996.
Since the very beginning of their stage life, The Eels have been known for their sincere lyrics that very often are the reflection of Oliver’s personal life. The world has already heard 11 studio albums of The Eels, whose songs have often been soundtracks for such movies as Scream 2, American Beauty, Road Trip, Holes, The Anniversary Party, Knocked Up, Yes Man, The End of Violence, Hellboy II, Hot Fuzz, Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away 3D, Charlie Bartlett, Enough Said, Delivery Man, and the first three Shrek films. Simply put, The Eels are everywhere.
The most recent work of theirs is a 2014 album “The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett”, which has again become a hit. They are now famous in every corner of the US and Europe singing touching alternative, blues and indie rock.
