Cabaret Balloon Show
Danny invites you into the strange and bizarre universe of a wild balloon tamer where surreal, skilful and stupid things happen. Using circus skills, eccentric performance and physical comedy he gives an audience an utterly joyous experience. The show is a funny yet moving series of visual contemporary clown acts loaded with participation, surprises and laughs.
Danny has been performing in theatre, circus and street as well as TV and films for over 17 years. He has worked with The Royal Opera, Dynamic New Animations, The Natural Theatre Company, Circus Sensible and in 2005 made his West End debut in “Burlesque!” at the Arts Theatre, London. Danny has made appearances on screens including Happiness (BBC2); Jack Dee’s Sunday Service (CH4) and Danny was Homer Simpson in the “The Real Simpson’s” advert on Sky One. He has been the lead in a Norwegian film “Sniffer” which won the 2006 Palme D’or for Best Short Film at Cannes Film Festival, France.
Lighter than air is for family audiences and due to its highly visual nature, is particularly suitable for those with hearing difficulties and non-English speakers. There are many balloons in the show some of which pop and make a loud noise. The show is for children aged 5+ and their families.
Danny also has a Christmas show featuring Danny the Christmas Elf! Danny is ready to entertain both adults and children with his amazing balloon nonsense all themed around Christmas! Watch him juggle huge balloon snowballs, train Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer and climb into a giant balloon bauble! The show is suitable for all events including large scale and is perfect for a varied and family based audience.
Danny won the “International Twister of the year 2011”. An Award for Excellence in the art of balloon twisting innovative & balloon entertainment at the Twist & Shout balloon convention in Phoenix, Arizona USA.
In 2011 Danny went to the International Children’s’ Theatre festival, Porto Sant ‘Elpidio, Italy and won the Jury Prize for best show. All the children in the audience voted after each show and Danny is proud to be the winner. As a physical comedian Danny has been in the short Norwegian film “Sniffer” which won many prizes including Best Short Film at the Cannes film Festival 2006. Danny was also Homer Simpson in “Come Home to the Simpsons”, an advert for Sky One, which won an industry award.
The show requires a minimum of 5 x 5 metres stage area with 4 metres ceiling height. Appropriate lighting, PA and CD player required. Performance times are variable.
