Chanson Francaise & French-style Cabaret Show

The formidable Baronessa performs a French-style cabaret revue show with a melange of the best of Paris chanson and London… accompanied by charming English rose, Miss Lily Farling on piano. Much of the banter and misunderstandings between these two delightful ladies leads to a great deal of laughter interspersed amongst the chansons.

The French-style cabaret repertoire covers Chanson Francaise, Cabaret, Jazz and Music-Hall. A chanson is a French song sung in French (a singer specialising in chansons is known as a “chanteur” or “chanteuse”). The Baronessa can also be accompanied by classical accordionist Mademoiselle Monika. Performances are presented in dazzling cabaret-style and in fabulous costume. These range from ball gowns to sailor frocks, with ruffles, feathers and parasols too!

Chanteuse The Baronessa, can also be joined by other acts such as dancers or other cabaret performers. The Gin Palace Gents, a dazzling male vintage dance troupe can accompany the Ball as can a showgirl troupe. Also Mathieu and Francois puppet duo present small vignettes of helpless romantic Francois and his never-ending quest for love, set to the score of Eric Satie. The enchanting silent films of video artist Belle de Nuit can also complement the show.

Standard Length of Performance: 1 x 25/30 minute set with 2 performers. 2 x 30 minute sets, with an interval, and 2 performers.
