- The Guinness World Record for the tallest sandcastle is 17.65 m (57 ft 11 in) tall, and was built in Binz, Germany, by Skulptura Projects GmbH (Germany). The sandcastle was built in 5 June 2019 and took 11,000 tonnes of sand mixed only with water.
- Scream for ice cream! Apparently, the earliest evidence of anything approaching ice cream comes from China in the Tang period (A.D. 618-907). Milk from Buffalo, cows and goats was heated, fermented, then mixed with flour for thickening and camphor for flavour and refrigerated before being served. Custard based ice cream using egg yolks, started in France around the middle of the 18th century.
