The Hives are a Swedish rock band famous for their strict black-and-white dress code and constant interaction with the audience.  It is now comprised of Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist (Per Almqvist) – lead vocals, Nicholaus Arson (Niklas Almqvist) – guitar, keyboard, backing vocals, Vigilante Carlstroem (Mikael Karlsson) – guitar, backing vocals, Dr. Matt Destruction (Mattias Bernvall) – bass guitar, and Chris Dangerous (Christian Grahn) – drums, percussion; all five of them have been in the group since the time it was founded in 1993.

The Hives were one of the most popular bands in the early 2000s, mostly thanks to “Veni Vidi Vicious”, their second album released in the year 2000. The album featured their hit and probably the most recognizable singles “Hate to Say I Told You So” and “Main Offender”. During the next four years, The Hives were touring extensively to support “Veni Vidi Vicious”. In 2003, the group won the “Best International Band” and “Best Dressed Band” at the NME awards. They released their third album “Tyrannosaurus Hives” a year later. The album brought them 5 Swedish Grammis in 2005 and strengthened their fame.

The next Swedish Grammi came to The Hives in 2008 after the release of their fourth album, “The Black and White album”. Once their world tour had finished, The Hives became independent, creating their own label called Disque Hives, on which they continued recording the fifth album, “Lex Hives”, which released in 2012. This year, The Hives announced their upcoming sixth album and introduced the single “Blood Red Moon”. While recording more songs for their fans, the Hives are also ready to perform at private events of any kind! Contact Contraband to have them perform at yours!
