Book 50 Cent
50 Cent is a rapper, singer and an actor. His real name is Curtis James Jackson. Having started in the 2000s, 50 Cent has won an impressive list of awards, namely thirteen Billboard Music Awards, one Grammy Award, six World Music Awards, four BET Awards, and three American Music Awards.
The world first heard of Curtis in 2003 after the release of his debut studio album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” that was made and promoted with the support of Eminem and Dr. Dre. The album hit #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and its single, “In Da Club”, was declared the most listened-to song within a week in radio history. The very same year 50 Cent founded his own label “G-Unit” and proceeded to work on his next album.
The sophomore album of the already famous 50 Cent, “Massacre”, sold almost 1,5 million during the first four days after its release and brought Curtis one more achievement – he was the first solo singer to have his three singles in the top five of the Billboard chart. These legendary three were “Candy Shop”, “Disco Inferno”, and “How We Do”.
In 2007, a self-named album was released featuring a different 50 Cent. Where “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” and “In Da Club” were full of harsh lyrics, “Curtis” introduced softer material that was recorded partly in his grandmother’s house. However, in 2009, when he released his fourth album, “Before I Self Destruct”, 50 Cent went into darkness and aggressiveness. Introducing his fifth album, Curtis spoke about a completely different concept for the album, and it definitely was like nothing he had ever done before.
Amidst his singing career, 50 Cent also takes care of his business ventures and promotes other performers. Busy with his philanthropic efforts and business, he also released two more albums in 2014 and 2015 respectively. 50 Cent is now the third best-selling rapper in the world and definitely one of the most popular ones.
