We recently used Plague at our annual award ceremony to open the event and it certainly went off with a bang. From the beginning of the performance they captured the audience leaving them on the edge of their seats as they performed a breath taking routine. DJ Stuart was the star of the show at my son's birthday party - amazing energy kept a group of 10 year old boys completely engaged throughout - not an easy gig! My son loved every minute of it - Stuart was worth every penny, fab lighting, quick set up but most of all the kids just enjoyed it because he was so connected with them - he was much much more than a DJ, an all-round entertainer - the boys got to have a go at being a DJ themselves and Stuart got them all dancing and involved.

Definitely want to use him again they have school discos a lot at my son's school and he is without doubt better than any I have seen there and better value for money - people skills, fun, brilliant; thank you for suggesting him perfect for the particular type of party it was.

The 3 dancers were also a hit with the boys and some of them really picked up some great moves.

I’ve just realized that I haven’t given you much feedback for the entertainment at our event in Liverpool recently so here goes

Harlequin Jesters: These two were very professional, following a very light brief they were happy to simply get on with things, they moved to the required areas at the times set and gave a brilliant atmosphere on the event entrance and also on entrance into the gala dinner room. They were great to deal with.

Joe Pianist: Joe was brilliant, it’s hard to find a decent piano vocalist and we are happy we managed to book Joe. He was very easy to deal with and worked from a simple brief. Due to the size of the event it can be hard sometimes to give these types of acts the time and the detailed briefing we would prefer – however Joe needed minimal information and was happy to get things going.

Living Tables: The two ladies were professional as per the other acts, they arrived at what was probably the most manic point for me but managed to make sense of my ramblings in order to get them ready and in position. These two really caught the attention of the guests who were photographing them and really enjoying the whole atmosphere created. Again these two needed minimal briefing and were able to position themselves in the best place for the event.

I’m not sure whether any of the acts were thanked as their finish times overlapped with key sections of the event in the main room – please do thank them all for me, we were extremely happy with their performances and would definitely recommend them.

Travel Councellors

As far as I’m aware everyone enjoyed themselves. The band was very good and even let one of the guests perform with them.

The show they put on was highly impressive, very entertaining, and incredibly funny and went down really well with the audience. His face-painting was superb (the whiskers an inspired touch) and generally he was a tiger that was a joy to work with!

The balloon sculpting was a real draw and she is talented at making lots of different requests. We put a Victim Support sticker on each balloon and asked for a donation, which worked well. I missed saying goodbye to her (as I was counting the donations) so please do pass on my feedback to her.

You were right about not getting donations to cover the cost of the entertainer, but our presence there had other effects of raising awareness of our charity which was most useful.

Despite this, Arabesque were superb and entertained the crowds with their antics so all in all I was very pleased with their performance.

I just wanted to pass on my thanks and that of my team for providing us with String Fever, Pyromantic and Alex Crow. All three of them gave us wonderful acts on the day and were extremely helpful with every requirement we had.

Despite a technical fault on the day with our clapometer String Fever were incredibly professional and delivered a faultless performance.

Pyromantic in particular spent a lot of time - including an extra rehearsal on Monday - perfecting their act and discussing the Health and Safety issues with our Fire Wardens. Marina was incredibly efficient and adapted her routine to suit our audience, giving them a brilliant act.

Alex's rat routine was spot on for our audience, I had numerous remarks from the kids after the show asking me how he did it.

Lastly Nick was truly fantastic – absolutely brilliant and a nice person which is always a bonus (met far too many weird magicians!) The guests were screaming at some of his tricks! All of them were a pleasure to deal with and flexible which helps particularly when we didn’t have a room away from the guests for them.

The weekend was fantastic and so were your performers. They were all punctual, helpful and very talented. The man who was staging a flea circus show for us said that John Styles was one of his heroes and he was thrilled to meet him. The Punch and Judy was the best I have seen. Big Gray helped to fill in the gaps between performers with juggling and Felix Brent did the same. This was a great help to us. Sorcha was very imposing on her stilts and was happy to go outside to help attract customers. All in all, a great credit to Contraband and a treat for the people who visited the library over the weekend. Please thank the performers on behalf of myself and the staff.

Loved the African Drummers - thought they looked the part in their African dress and the noise of those drums! They were just brilliant. Really gave the event some atmosphere and they were all very smiley and friendly. Would hire them again without any hesitation.

As for Woody & Paul - everyone just loved them. They were F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. We showed their promotional VT before they performed and it really got everyone excited so they had all eyes focused on them and because we had two big screens, everyone in the room could see their fancy footwork and enjoy their fantastic footballing skills. Two really lovely guys and again, I would definitely book them for other clients.

A little girl from our son's class came up to me this morning while I dropped Daniel to school and said 'Mrs Page, Daniel's party was fantastic' (she is only 5), aaaawww, that is how good they were, and they did not seem to mind when the children used popcorn to interact with the actors (e.g. throw popcorn, of course friendly fire). NYE was great and all went down well. I heard the band’s sound check (which was great in itself!) but left before the show actually started for our guests. I’ve seen some of the guest feedback already and all is good and I believe the dance area was full the whole night! Many of our NYE guests have been for the last 3yrs now so there’s always pressure to get even better. I’m pleased to say that 30x out of 50x rooms re-booked for 2010 on departure so we must have done something right once again!

From us, I have to say that ‘Dan the sound man’ was great in the few days before and on the day. The sound levels were perfect for the bar. The band were very professional and relaxed and very easy to work with which suited our general ethos perfectly.

I am writing on behalf of all the school to say that we had an absolutely super day with Camilla showing us all her craft.

The younger children chose their own balloons, while the older classes got the chance to make their own. The children all enjoyed their sessions immensely, as did the staff.
Not all the children managed to hold on to their balloon for the journey home and a trail of ‘dead’ balloons could be followed down the pavement from the school – aaahhh!… we would have you back again.

Every single person at our party made a point of telling me how brilliant the Balloon Lunatics were. We don't normally have continuous entertainment at our client party as traditionally it's been a chance for canapés and networking with lots of talk, but by changing the format the evening picked up its own momentum and the atmosphere was great.

Kai was amazing (I had a few comments about the noise level - so maybe I should have requested only two sets) but by third set 'they were dancing in the aisles'!

Sophie and the ladies were just charmingly beautiful. It was all a little stressed to begin with as they didn't get a chance for a full sound/stage check, but they just got on with it and come out all legs and smiles.

The casino was also excellent. His personalised, light-hearted approach was really effective. Unfortunately the lay-out of the room did not allow the two tables to set up as wished and I sense it proved more difficult than normal for the croupiers to control guests. There were also 2 incidents with glasses for which I apologise. I spoke to the owner afterwards and he was generally happy. Please pass on to him that he was really excellent and he played a key role in the party. I have had many compliments about his service. We will use him again.

Lady Grey were fabulous and they successfully marked the transition from the meal to the remainder of the party, as I had hoped. They set the tone in a most effective way – a big bang, literally. I would recommend them to anyone.

The girls (Sahara) went down a treat. You seldom get particular feedback about a string quartet, because they are in essence supposed to be a 'background' act, but Sahara received a lot of comments from the guests. They looked great and their instruments were modern and a little unusual, which made them stand out. They played the right mix of contemporary and traditional pieces, and looked like they were enjoying themselves, which is always a bonus!
All arrived on time and were very friendly, helpful and professional.

I agree that the party went very well and despite worries about what games they would do (due to the layout and the number of guests) both Kim and Deana were fantastic.

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. The party was a great success. The children had loads of fun. I was very happy about Zanzibar's performance (although I was too busy doing the catering to see his whole show) and his interaction with the kids. It was just the right kind of input, not too hyper, friendly and funny, he seemed very at ease with children. It is difficult to keep 18 children between age 3 and 6 mesmerized and quiet for more than 15 minutes, especially in hot weather, so he did a very good job!
Apart from the bubble show, the children were able to have fun with him and play with bubbles in little gangs, duck in and out of the game and come back, which is what parties should be like. They all warmed up to Zanzibar and my quite shy daughter liked him a lot. I also had positive comments from other parents.

Malcolm is amazing! Some thought he was a magician; others went down the Psychic route. I will stick to just plain talented! It was the perfect thing for our event as we were trying hard to unite three separate London offices who hardly new each other. He really has a niche and not only is he a lovely guy he is a really fantastic performer. He didn’t miss a name, even when people had sneakily moved around he still knew them. It really made the evening; everyone was in tears of laughter.

Having experienced his act I do think that you and him could charge more. It is quite honestly the best entertainment I have seen and worth a lot more than what we paid. (I have probably done myself a disservice there as we will want to use him again!)

Tenerife was great! Flux were just fantastic - never seen a show like it. It really did just blow everyone away. The client said it was the perfect ending to their conference and the other groups that didn’t were very upset they didn’t see it!!

We persuaded our client to use them for Sorrento but we couldn’t get them so we are having Kaleidoscope instead!! Hopefully it will go down just as well if not better!!!

Could you please thank your 3 magicians on my behalf as they have done a brilliant job at entertaining our delegates, I unfortunately was too busy with other things to see you perform and with all the delegates in the room it was hard to tell where they were but we had some feedback from the delegates saying it was their best Orange party so far so thanks them for contributing to this major success. I would also like to thank them for extending their performance for a little longer than 45 minutes as we had a bit of a panicky moment with the table plan and that is why the drinks reception lasted for longer than planned so again a big thank you.

Finally, I would like to thank you and your team for being very efficient at providing me with cost as swiftly as possible and for being very flexible with all the different brief we gave you. I will definitely be in touch in the future if we need artists, entertainers it was great working with you.

Mickey (Tinto Juggler) was fantastic and fitted in perfectly to the event. He meeted and greeted the guests as they came in with juggling and tricks and then mingled with the crowds later on. Everything got rather loud later on in the evening and guests got heavily into their dancing so I hope he didn't feel un-wanted towards the end of his set - he seemed happy.

Yes it went perfectly – there were a few tricky moments with the police and the neighbours, but we got away with it.
The drawing came up great, both guys did a fantastic job, it looked top notch, and they really went for it, 7 hours straight without a break, in very cold conditions – the client was really happy, and the stunt got loads of attention on the day. Hopefully it will feature in some papers etc as well.

• Mark’s table magic – this went down extremely well and was very engaging with the audience and excellent audience participation! A great act to have mingle in with the audience and can create a focus for others to watch.
• Marc (main act) – a very entertaining act that made people question how things were done and how he was able to correctly identify people’s guesses! Contained his act in the allotted time, but could easily have gone on for longer with the audience none the wiser – excellent act to have.

The event went very well on Saturday despite the weather. It was bitterly cold but amazingly Jon and Scott didn't seem to notice the freezing conditions - they must be very hardy!

The event was a big success, 250 people turned up and they all seemed to enjoy themselves!

The origami artist was also a big success! The guests enjoyed watching her and I saw several people leaving with their origami gifts! I enjoyed working with Jaing Jing, I found her to be very pleasant and professional. It was also great that she was able to just get on and entertain the guests as required, as I was often unavailable to check how she was getting on. Thank you also for all the information that you provided me with before the event – this left me feeling very confident about the entertainment.

Once again I wanted to say a huge thank you to you and the performers you supplied for our Health and Lifestyle Event.

The biggest wow of the day was obviously Anna and Hose, who were just mesmerising with their Flamenco, but who were also very lovely people who made my job very easy when it came to accommodating them and meeting the schedule etc. They made a wonderful addition to our day and created a brilliant dramatic impact. We will definitely be asking them back for future events when the space allows.

And once again ‘The Workers’ again had everyone talking about how ‘creepy’ and odd they were. And Calvos was stared at in wonder as he performed with his crystals.

Last night was great. Kai's Kats were just fantastic; they were situated near the entrance to the party so it gave the guests a nice classy introduction to their evening’s celebrations. Sheba the caricaturist was kept very busy! I got one done and was delighted with my badge. You could see everyone proudly wearing their badges on their outfits. Both acts turned up on time, were friendly and talented, and really made a hit at our party.

I was checking my calendar and I couldn't believe that it is over a week since the Great Britain and Royal Mail reception. So I thought it timely to send you a brief note thanking the girls and especially Jim for the hard work and effort they put in on behalf of Royal Mail to ensure that our reception was a resounding success and the talk of UPU, if not Geneva.

Can I take this opportunity to thank you and let you know how wonderful Anna was? She is extremely skilled not only as a face painter, but with young children. She managed to get even our most nervous children to sit and have their face done. The children were so proud; they kept showing everyone their faces, the tigers and lions roaring at each other and everyone who came near to them, the parents were really impressed. It really added to the party, and made our last day a success.

Sorry about the delay but I thought it would be useful to give you some feedback about the entertainers we used at our event on Tuesday 20 November at the Emirates Stadium.

The football tricksters were great and made a perfect opener for both the morning keynote and the evening dinner. They were short enough to grab everyone's attention and focus them on the stage, which is just what we needed. The guys were professional and polite and a pleasure to work with.

Marc Spelmann was also a real hit. Our guests were a bit of a nightmare and talked through all the awards and speeches, with our evening MC really struggling to make himself heard. Marc suggested that the MC announce in his intro that they needed to watch the stage, as the first thing he was going to do was hammer nails into his face. It worked! A lot of people commented on how good the show was and it caught and held their attention.

The DJ had a bit of a raw deal as most people left after dinner and we had to move the p-dinner drinks to another room in order to accommodate our numbers. However, we did not find him especially helpful when trying to determine whether his kit would work in the space and this resulted in me hiring in additional sound equipment for both the main room and the drinks room in order to ensure that quality was of a sufficient standard. This said, he played the music that my host wanted and kept the atmosphere going for the stragglers.

Spoke to Nick on Sunday and he sounded happy – I did not hear from him in the evening so I think it went well.

My reading was very interesting – didn’t get a chance to do a palm reading as she was so busy. I kept contact with her over the weekend and she said that she saw at least 50 people on Saturday and 60 on Sunday. Great turnout. I think both acts worked brilliantly together.

Just wanted to let you know that we have now had some feedback from our client. The event went exceptionally well and Lombard were extremely pleased with the hula hooping (Arabesque). Apparently it drew a great deal of attention and generally went down a storm! I am just writing rather belatedly to let you how delighted we were with both of the acts we hired from you for our civil partnership at Syon House last September.

Helen Kane was simply fantastic and stole the show! She remembered her briefing perfectly and was utterly hilarious.

Our Footmen were just brilliant - absolutely EVERYONE commented on how funny they were, and how they really helped our guests to relax and broke the ice. They really put their heart and soul into the act and far exceeded our expectations. Even the catering staff wrote to us afterwards to say how wonderful the footmen were!

Please do feel free to pass these comments on to the artistes and, again, sorry they are so late.

Just wanted to say thank you to Contraband (you and Archie) and the gentleman who provided the striker for the NSC Global Event. Apologies as it took him four phone calls to locate me.

All the entertainment was used to the full - after only one heavy downpour - we were extremely lucky for this event that had a fair amount going on outside.

Weddings Abroad

Just wanted to say thanks very much for your help in organising everything yesterday.

Please could you also pass on our very big thanks to Gael for the superb face painting that she did yesterday.

She was absolutely fantastic and in my opinion must have the patience of a saint. We had 12 children ranging from the ages of 2 to 12, none of which were professional models and who were all really excited. She worked very hard to put them all at ease and by the time they were ready for the photography they were all chilled out and ready for anything. It really paid off - the few photographs that I saw yesterday were amazing and the children were all absolutely delighted with the end results.

Walking through Manchester City Centre with the kids later was a bit of an experience, we had people stopping us in the street, chatting to the kids and lots of smiles in our direction - so the work she did really made an impact!!!

We can't wait to see the photos and will let you see them as soon as we get them.

Tariq and Nick were fantastic. And Stuart was such a sweetheart, really flexible. After worrying about finding them a green room, I managed to get them into the Club Lounge so they even had a TV in between sets. It was great that while I had a very rare couple of minutes to breathe, I grabbed Tariq and Nick and asked them to do some magic for my boss and my Production Manager, and we were all thoroughly impressed! I couldn't believe that they turned a pack of cards into a block of glass while I was holding it!

And I was really grateful that Stuart agreed to stay that extra 30 mins, as the client at 00:45 decided he would pay to have the party go on for an extra half hour. So please thank him again for agreeing at such short notice.

Anyway, I thought they were all brilliant so please send me the bill!!!

What can I say? You let your performance do all the talking....which was absolutely sensational!! I normally judge an act by the crowds’ reaction and they couldn't get enough and wanted more. I don't know whether you have considered it already but you should DEFINITELY enter 'Britain’s Got Talent', I can see you winning it!! The act was the defining moment of the night and I have had numerous phone calls asking me about the act and telling me how good you were!!

As you can imagine, I was run off my feet with organising and sorting out the evening. I hope you got yourself some food at the end of the night and got home safely.
