The
Brewery’s Christmas Package
Contraband International Ltd provided all of the entertainment
for The Brewery’s Christmas party packages in December
2006. We offered three different themes for clients to
choose from: 1920’s, 1980’s and Futuristic,
with 71 parties in total.
Our aim was to provide The Brewery with entertainment
that focussed on the theme with real attention to detail
and creativity, from flair bartenders wearing 80’s
sweatbands to casino croupiers complete with 1920’s
gangster spats on their shoes. We aimed to go beyond the
normal standard of entertainment and provide an event that
was more impressive and memorable than our competitors,
as well as offering real value for money.
We
held two presentation days for The Brewery to showcase
our entertainment. The Brewery invited their clients to
the showcase so that they could decide which theme and
which entertainers to choose.
All of the performers and staff were in costume. For the
1920’s theme we had magicians dressed as shoe-shine
boys with flat caps polishing guests shoes before performing
tricks, fake paparazzi in 1920’s costumes , a comedy
Charlie Chaplin mime artist mix and mingling with guests,
actresses masquerading as flower sellers, an actor dressed
as a Russian gangster complete with violin case, keystone
cops busting the party with whistles and handcuffing the
singer of the band, Dirty Harry actor, casino tables with
croupiers wearing gangster spats, compare dressed as a
1920’s gentleman with monocle, powder puff girls
in the toilets helping guests to touch-up their make-up,
a tarot reader dressed in 20’s clothes, and a cabaret
show performed by a troupe of flapper girls (see photos).
For
the 1980’s party package we supplied flair bartenders
dressed in 80’s clothes complete with wrist bands,
80’s break dancers, a hula hoop dancer, a human beat-boxer
and 80’s DJ.

The Futuristic party package included LED poi and juggling
performances, remote control Christmas trees including
baubles used as raffle tickets, caricaturists, chocolate
fountains, karaoke machine, arcade games and simulators,
futuristic stilt walkers, Titan the robot, walkabout comedy
astronauts, UFO walkabout act, a dark star angel body statue
and Stormtroopers (see photos).
The events were hugely successful, with both The Brewery
and their end clients extremely happy with the results.
